Rise Theatre Visit
God’s Planet
Bishop Parker School were lucky enough to have RISE Theatre visit us for the day to help us explore and appreciate the awe and beauty of God’s creation. The whole school gathered for an assembly which was based on the Genesis scripture of Creation and then everyone was involved in singing workshops to learn new songs and actions. Each class completed activities linked to the varied habitats of our planet and also discussed the actions which put these areas at risk.
In the afternoon, we gathered for an interactive journey around God’s Planet, visiting the rainforests, the polar regions, under the oceans and into space. As we journeyed with Kit and Sam, we learned about how the world was being destroyed by plastic pollution, global warming, fossil fuels and deforestation. We realised that kindness and hope would help us to re-build the wonderful world that God has given to us to look after.
Year 6 lead us in some prayers were able to meet the actors to share and celebrate all that they have achieved this year. What an amazing day we had!
